Get your mind on this Shabbat!
Mental Health Awareness
We all have mental health just as we all have physical health. Jami provides education about mental health and wellbeing to everyone in the Jewish community. They also provide support to people experiencing a variety of mental health problems and to carers also affected by these issues.
There are so many complexities surrounding mental health and different areas and the work being done by HAMAKOM and JAMI are two very important organisations for our community. Please do come and join us this Shabbat and support those who are affected.
We will be joined by Warren Traeger, head of social enterprise for JAMI who will be talking about the organisation in detail. Chazzan Roland Brandman will be leading the service with spiritual upliftment and mindfulness from HAMAKOM and Psychologist Lucy Lurie will be on hand to discuss mental health awareness in the wider community over lunch. Jay Dor will be working with the Bnei Mitzvah group and will be talking about mental health issues amongst teenagers and what to look out for.
NOAM Youth have organised a jam packed children's service and we are asking all community members to bring a dish, please make it a healthy option as our lunch slogan is 'Healthy Body, Healthy Mind' - Please make sure its vegetarian or kosher fish.
We are looking forward to seeing you all on Shabbat and look forward to welcoming our visitors. This is an open invitation to the wider community.
