Friendship, Family, Love and Warmth!

Writer: ebmcchairsebmcchairs

Last night EBMC held a packed meet the Rabbi steering meeting with Rabbi Danny Newman. It was an opportunity to get to know our Rabbi and ask questions around development, growth, community engagement and leadership. As EBMC takes on more members and works with the wider community we spoke about the importance of social engagement and listening. Rabbi Danny gave a wonderful D'var Torah on creation, specifically human creation and the evolution of mankind with the idea of community building and inclusiveness always being the forefront of our identity as well as reminding ourselves that all humans are equal, and that Masorti is a place of fairness, inclusiveness, equality, respect and love.

We had many new members who had not attended a steering meeting before, and we felt that the evening was extremely successful. We have also registered with the Mitzvah Day Project which is to be held on the 17th November. We believe that our focus will be that of interfaith work within the wider community and if anyone has any ideas or activities which they would like to host, then please feel free to get in touch.

The committee also discussed some of the upcoming simcha's and high holy day arrangements. We are looking to host a few 'TAKE A SHABBAT' taster sessions, whereby we will be calling on members to help with certain elements of a Shabbat Service. If you feel like you would like to learn about how Saturday Shabbat Services are led, then please feel free to get in touch.
