Attending services at EMS.

Updated: Jun 16, 2021

Whilst life is starting to slowly get back to normality, EMS has kindly offered to open up services invites to EBMC members. Please see below for detials on upcoming services offered. Bookings must be done directly with the EMS office if you wish to attend.

Booking is now open for the services below:

Kabbalat Shabbat - Friday 18 June at 6.30pm

Shabbat Morning - Saturday 19 June at 10am If you would like to attend one of the services listed above please email them at ebmcchairs@gmail.com with your name, the name of anyone coming with you, and the date of the service (s) you wish to attend. If you are one of the first 15 (Friday night), or 30 (Shabbat morning and Shavuot morning) to apply you will get a confirmation email from the office. To comply with Covid regulations we must have a list of everyone who attends services. If you don't receive a reply from me you will not be on the list and will not be admitted.

By emailing the Shul office, and applying for places, you are confirming that you have read the details below.  Please take the time to do so.

  1. If you are planning to attend a service and you feel unwell, please do not come to Shul. Even if you do not suspect COVID-19 please stay at home.  By signing up to attend a service you are confirming that you have had no known exposure, to a person with COVID-19 in the last two weeks and have been required to quarantine, or self-isolate.  If you think, or know, you have had COVID-19, please do not come to shul until you have had a negative COVID-19 test.

  2. Face coverings MUST be worn whilst you are in Shul. Please apply hand sanitiser on entry and exit from the Shul. Supplies will be available at the entry and exit doors.

  3. Entrance to the shul will be through the white door at the bottom of Stream Lane only. A Covid Office and a member(s) of our security team will be there to greet you. This is for your safety; please follow their guidance.  A one-way system will be operated to aid physical distancing. Social distance markings will be used throughout the ground floor of the Shul.  The first floor is out of bounds.  After the Service, the exit will be via the door into the Hyman Hall and then via the wooden doors in the Hyman Hall that lead back into Stream Lane.  The entrance in Bakery Path will not be in use.

  4. The layout of the Shul and the shul service itself will look and feel different.  One of the sad realities of the spread of coronavirus is that singing creates significant risk and must be avoided. The chairs in the Shul will have been positioned by us and must not be moved. If you are a family of 3 or more then you will have to sit separately, in twos. To avoid cross-contamination, and to aid cleaning, please bring your own Siddur to shul with you. Please keep your coat with you and if you need to bring a handbag, please make it a small one, bringing only items that you need for the service.

  5. The shul kitchen and the hallway leading to the Bakery Path door will be out of bounds (and only used in an emergency).  The Cloakroom is only to be used by security personnel and the only toilet in use will be the single disabled toilet just outside the kiddush area. On emailing the shul office you will also recieve terms and conditions related to a covid-safe environment.

Please stay safe.
