Volunteers needed - return of Jewish Living Experience (JLE) exhibition to St Albans Cathedral 26 Feb to 7 March 2019
Following on from the success of the Board of Deputies JLE exhibition two years ago, to which so many SAMS, Masorti and other shul members contributed so admirably, the Cathedral are delighted to host it again, together with SAMS, from February 26th to March 7th 2019.
Time & Location
26 Feb 2019, 10:00 – 07 Mar 2019, 15:00
St. Albans Cathedral, St Albans AL1 1BY, UK
About the Event
We cannot do this without volunteers to explain the panels and artifacts on display and the reality of Jewish life, our Shabbat, festivals, life cycle, ethics etc to the school groups of mainly non-Jewish children and their teachers. In fact as so few have ever met Jews before, your presence is just as important a part of the JLE as the displays.
Safeguarding guidance and explanation of what is expected from volunteers will be provided.
The Cathedral has already started taking school bookings, so if you can spare time to join us in providing this fantastic learning resource on Judaism and Jewish Life please contact me via the SAMS office on info@e-sams.org
The sessions will be 10-12am and 1-3pm every day, and we need volunteers now for 27/28 February, all day if you can, and 5/6/7 March 2019.
Lastly, we have printed marketing postcards available for those who have contacts with schools that may be interested in sending groups to the JLE. In this case, please contact the SAMS office on info@e-sams.org who hold a supply of these cards.
Thanking you in advance.
